A New Beginning Gala - October 25, 2010

AFIM’s Annual Gala took place on Monday, October 25, 2010, Cipriani 42nd Street, raising over $2.6 million.  With a sold out crowd of 580 friends in attendance, the Gala, entitled, A NEW BEGINNING, celebrated the completion of the Museum's three-year Campus Renewal Project and its 45th birthday.  The event highlighted its new architecture and landscape, its new wings and galleries, and recent acquisitions.  Chairs for the Gala were Linda and Michael Jesselson, Shawn and Peter Leibowitz, and Eleanor and Rodney ProppDesigned by David Stark, the décor was inspired by the Museum’s architecture and Jamie Carpenter’s use of glass, water and light.  The evening featured entertainment by Vali FUSION and a film which chronicled the Museum’s renewal.  The previous evening, a cocktail reception for nearly one hundred leading donors was hosted by Phyllis and William Mack, followed by a private dinner for underwriters hosted by Mimi and George Perlman.
